Amman - The Greater Amman Municipality, through its investment arm Amman Vision Investment and Development, has received 25 investment applications outside the portfolio of projects it recently launched, worth tens of millions of dinars, according to its Chief Executive Officer Hamza Al-Haj Hassan. Al-Haj Hassan told Al-Ghad that the Municipality "has allocated around 1,000 plots of land across its 22 districts for investment purposes, on which projects outside the portfolio will be built, including fuel stations and other vital and service projects." He revealed that Amman Vision had received 52 letters of interest in the projects it recently launched, noting that the car parking projects, the motor city and the mini box park "were the projects most in demand among investors." According to the Mayor of Amman, Yousef Al-Shawarbeh, the Municipality's assets are worth around one billion dinars. Amman Vision was launched on the nineteenth of last month to make use of the Municipality's idle assets and unexploited investment licences by delivering projects on the ground, with the aim of driving the economy forward, creating job opportunities and generating a return on those assets to increase revenues, which in turn is reflected positively in the services provided to citizens. Amman Vision is the principal developer of the land and investment licences owned by the Municipality, and offers many investment opportunities in land and assets to investors wishing to deliver successful and viable projects and contribute to the advancement of Amman and the Kingdom. Amman Vision will provide a diverse range of investment opportunities that meet the needs of the market and investors and the aspirations of the Municipality and Jordanian society, through several investment options that express a genuine partnership between the public and private sectors, such as direct leasing, revenue or profit sharing, in addition to equity contribution, with the aim of achieving investment returns through sustainable projects that keep pace with Jordan's modern urban landscape. The first group of projects launched by Amman Vision includes the motor city in Al-Madouneh, which brings together new and used car dealers and traders along with associated services in one location; the Ghamdan project with its two options, the first a leisure and services scheme offering a wide range of recreational activities, hotel buildings and a conference centre, and the second a residential complex; and a mini box park in Abdoun bringing together local and international brands and leisure offerings; in addition to the investment strip (the Abdoun Corridor), which comprises residential, health and leisure projects. These projects also include the exhibition grounds on Airport Road, comprising exhibition and conference halls and theatres; the Banking District in Abdoun, which provides banking services in an interactive and professional working environment; and automated car parks and smart parking in multiple areas, providing intelligent solutions for organising parking within cities. At the end of last month, the Municipality Council approved its budget for the current year at a value of 527 million dinars.
